Fantasticon 2015

Spent part of today at Fantasticon - I heard an interesting piece on music in superhero movies (well, a superhero movie, mostly), did not get to watch Abekvinden fra Borneo, on account of it having technical difficulties and me wanting to catch the next bit, which was a Q&A about Science Fiction Cirklen’s novel contest, so I eventually gave up on hoping for the difficulties to be solved in time (as I understand it they were and it was a good movie, but I didn’t get to see it) - and after that I watched a British sf writer talk about self-publishing. Oh, and I bought a book - which is the third in a trilogy and I haven’t read the first two, so - I should request that at the library, shouldn’t I? Oh well...

And then I left to go hang with some friends and watch fanvids and learn about the existence of Hillywood and cuddle the fluffy dog.

I don’t think I’ll go back tomorrow - I mean, there’s a panel on “Writing in other people’s universes”, featuring Ian Watson and Pat Cadigan, which sounds relevant to my interests, doesn’t it? But it feels like a long way and a lot of money for a one hour thing... (Well, they’re also showing a new movie by the guy who made Nattens Engel, the worst vampire movie in the world, so there’s that, I suppose).

Speaking of writing in other people’s universes, I could have sworn there used to be a point about fanfiction on that programme, back before they put specific times on stuff, but it appears to have gone awol. Pity. I wonder what happened to it.
