Just one more thought about the fanfic discussion going on

It occurs to me that George R.R. Martin might well be against fanfic, but nevertheless he has done pretty much the one thing guaranteed to breed it, complete with fic-writers who have never read the books or even heard about GRRM or his opinions pro or contra.

A brief glance at the Imdb page for Game of Thrones has convinced me that there will be Eddard Stark slash soon enough. After all, it is a truth universally acknowledge that Sean Bean + leather pants* = fangirls. Just saying.

*It's a pseudo-medieval fantasy world, I'll be very surprised if there is an absence of leather pants.

(And fortunately I've managed to restrain myself from leaving a snarky comment to that effect on the GRRRRR-ing fellow's journal...)
