If only my Greek teacher had known what seed he was sowing...

One of the odder things I have done in my life is to take Ancient Greek and Latin as elective subjects in high school. Don´t get me wrong, I don´t regret it for a single second, but it was definitely a bit odd. Still, it allowed me to walk away with a small collection of mildly obscure facts about the ancient world. Is there a point to this, you ask - why, yes, there is. You see, these last few nights have been terribly hot and therefore very hard to sleep through, and in the darkness sometime between 1. and 2. am my mind made some odd connections, and, well, the result is something very much like a Sparrington drabble. Anyone interested?
