Taxi rant

Why? Why can´t those stupid, bloody American movie companies make their own original movies instead of making inferior remakes of brilliant foreign films? Why? Because Americans can´t read subtitles and need their movies in English? Nonsense, then how come the rest of us manage just fine with subtitles? Besides, if that is really the issue, then why don´t they just synchronize - not that I am a big fan of synchronization either, but at least it would still be the same movie.  (The only remittigating circumstance in the case of this particular movie is that whoever converted it into American must have seen the great potential for slash in the original - of course, this individual promptly proceeded to ruin it by replacing the male taxi driver Daniel with a female ditto... :-(
