Home from Paris - ILL conference and hanging out with robininthelabyrint. Admittedly, getting home involved strikes and SAS being inefficient (aren't they supposed to actually tell you when your plane is cancelled?) and negotiating to not be put on a plane to bloody Oslo (I don't mind Oslo, but when the goal is Copenhagen, Oslo is a bit of a detour). Hopefully I can get these posts back on a regular schedule now - especially since goodreads tells me I am behind on my reading goal now. :-(

Also, I've gotten my Yuletide assignment, and must admit, my immediate reaction was: somebody ships that?

What I've recently finished reading

Steve Kenson: Freedom City
There is some entertainment in just going "Right, so this villain is basically an evil Swamp Thing, and this hero is sort of Black Panther with a different colour scheme, and this is obviously Doctor Strange, etc."

Juan Díaz Canales: Fraternity 1.
Atmospheric.

Makoto Yukimura: Vinland Saga book 7.
Continues to be an occasionally weird read, especially after the main character turned pacifist.

C.J. Cherryh: The Pride of Chanur
This was a delightful read. The poor, furless, hapless alien and the crew of lioness aliens having to deal with him and escape the bad aliens. It's fun and I need to read the rest of the books. Which will involve tracking the last three down somehow.

What I'm reading now

Lucien Soulban's Lockdown, because supervillain prison, and Thit Jensen's Stygge Krumpen vol. 2..

What I'm reading next

Always a good question. Well - there's a Flash comic the library will be wanting back soon? And I got the first volume of Inge Eriksen's science fiction series from the library, so that's a possibility. Also - Yuletide canon review.

Total number of books and comics read this year: 156
.
