I just wanted to make a post and share the two gifts I've gotten for Yuletide.
Both are absolutely lovely and I'm happy to say I've had a very nice Yuletide this year.
I am actually in awe at my main gift, Nihaizu Three Ways. It's written for one of my favourite tv shows, Shinya Shokudo (aka Midnight Diner) (with just a tiny Good Omens crossover) and it is delicious. The fic is very quiet slice-of-life, just like the show (the supernatural elements aren't, but they are delightful) - and just like the show it's got delicious Japanese food interwoven. In fact, it's got photos of delicious Japanese food and recipes, which is - utterly ridiculous and absolutely amazing and like I said, I am in awe.
(Also, possibly idly wondering where in Copenhagen to look for half the stuff.)
Oh, and as if getting such an amazing main gift wasn't enough, somebody also wrote me a treat (clearly labelled as such), An Adventure of the Heart: A Buck and Garima Story. It's a nice little fic for the rather silly fandom I nominated, namely Mick Rory'sporn space adventure novel Heatwaves. This fic ia a delightful little how-did-Buck-and-Garima-the-alien-warrior-queen meet story - I'm not sure you can call it a meet-cute when a battlefield is involved, but it's nice.
So yeah, a happy Yuletide. My own fic is doing decently. Not terribly many hits, but the recip and other people have left kudos and positive comments (and at least it didn't get hidden by the archive like some years I could mention), so all is well there.
