Jack Davenport
I watched PotC and my eyes kept getting drawn to this fellow in the white wig. He seemed interesting. Sympathetic. And at the end I couldn't help feeling sorry for him. And then I stumbled across Coupling, and somewhere along the way I watched several more or less obscure movies and... well. I'm reasonably sure TV2 has bought Swingtown, so that's something to look forward to. Whenever. (It's the voice. And the face and the smile and the acting, but mostly. The voice. I occasionally check bibliotek.dk just to see if the Danish library system has gotten new audio books read by him. Currently in line for Candide, so don't you say fannishness never went hand in hand with high culture. Also, voice.)
Libraries
I can't remember the first time I was in library. My dad used to take me and my sister - admittedly mostly so he could read the newspaper, but it was nice. Before I could read there were audio books. Then later Danish books and stacks of comics and - when I began learning the language - English books. And then, around the time I became a teenager and high school gave me access to Internet, someone brilliant thought of bibliotek.dk. Which is love. Absolutely. Libraries are nice. Noisy, sometimes, but just - all those books and movies and comics and games and cds and stuff. How was I supposed to not wind up wanting to be a librarian? :-)
Discworld
Neil Gaiman
Pirates of the Caribbean
Uhmm... didn't I already cover these once? Oh well, at least I seem to be consistent - isn't that the word?
