So, today the nice, lovely mailman (who I actually think is - in fact - a nice, lovely mail-woman, but nevermind that) brought me my first dvds from this Danish dvd-rental-company á la Netflix. And it is especially nice because these dvds are a free trial package, thanks to a gift card my dear sister gave me :-)

However, problem is that there is actually two such Netflix-wannabee companies in Denmark (or possibly more, but I am only aware of two) - and I would rather get dvds from the other company, Digitarian, rather than from this one, Lejdvdfilm.dk. Mainly because Digitarian has a selection of movies more than twice the size of Lejdvdfilm.dk...

The package that arrived today included a slip of paper that I can simply sign and send back along with the dvds before a certain date and I won´t have to pay anything or be an actual member. That is not a problem. The problem is that my sister´s gift card to me gives her a discount on her account - but only if I actually pay for membership (at least once).

Now, it wouldn´t be very nice of me just to take the free movies, say thank you and go off to the competitor, now would it? But on the other hand they won´t exactly be free if I take even a month´s worth of paid membership. But on the third hand Lejdvdfilm.dk does have one or two movies that Digitarian doesn´t have, so I could make a very short wishlist, pay for a month´s membership - hoping for those movies - and then cancel the membership before they can charge me for the second month. But on the fourth hand there are no guaranties that those particular movies would be among those sent to me...

And - as if all this wasn´t enough - then I also have to decide whether I want to see Once upon a time in Mexico or Master and Commander tonight. Decisions, decisions...

ETA: Watched Once upon a time in Mexico, will watch M & C tomorrow. Strangest thing though - the deleted scene, "Spy dog" - I could have sworn that it was in the movie when I saw it in the cinema. I´m 100% certain, actually. Did they cut out the scene to add it as a deleted one, or have the Danish cinema system suddenly started adding scenes to the movies? Strange, very strange
