Is vaguely annoyed at the concept of time zones. All in favour of abolishing say AYE?

I like them, actually. They remind me that the planet is a moving thing, and rolls perpetually eastward into the dawn. Plus, useful, for those people who don't want midday noon to happen in the dark (poles excluded from this, obviously, at certain times of the year). Heh.

Calculating them is a pain, of course. But I'm not sure what you could plausibly replace them with?

Oh, I didn't actually think everything through quite that far - I'm just annoyed that whenever the internet says something (like, say, series X starting new episodes) on, say, a friday, then it never actually happens on friday, you know? I know it's ridiculous, but it still feels like I have to wait longer than everybody else, even if it's just an illusion created by relative positions in space, not time...

Aye. It could be like seasons, where in New Zealand April makes you feel all autumnal and sad and you have Christmas on the beach. 24 hour clock, of course, so my 0900 to 1700 grind is someone else's 1700 to 0100. It might get a wee bit confusing but I'm sure we could cope.
