And I still maintain that it's kind of cool - especially since this year it's exactly 200 years since the last wild wolf got shot in Denmark - hopefully this one will not drop dead anytime soon.

Also, the votes are in, such as they are, and there has been an overwhelming majority for The Winchester Edda.

So. Ahem.

I hereby publicly declare that I will no later than on Store Bededag (this year) post at the very minimum chapter 3 of The Winchester Edda. If I default fail so to do, I will atone my terrible sin by - hmmm - by baking a cake for whichever fen might find themselves within a reasonable physical distance at the time. Or something.

Good luck with the writing. I guess it's a win-win : either we get fic or cake. Perhaps we should make it even more so and say that if you do manage your deadline, I bake a cake!

It's cool with the wolves, but I understand how it's not awesome for farmers.

True, but the farmers can cope, can fence in their sheep in decent fences for a change (maybe the presence of wolves could force a general upgrade of livestock fences, bringing down the number of stray horses wandering in front of cars?), and I suspect pretty soon some insurance company will offer wolf insurance. Of course, I am not actually convinced yet that it is the wolf killing those sheep - the timing seems awfully convenient. Anyway, farmers aren't happy if they don't have something to complain about ;-)

Wouldn't you need ridiculously heavy-duty fencing to keep wolves out? Doesn't sound feasible.

A determined wolf, yes - but thing is, sheep never do tend to have much in the way of fences, if at all. I suspect electric fences would get most wolves to go looking for easier meals. If this article can be trusted, that's what they use in Germany, so surely Danish farmers can as well?
