Is it better to aim for short updates in the hope of actually getting stuff posted sooner rather than later (but with the risk of running out of steam and leaving (yet another) WIP in my wake) or is it better to attempt to write the whole bloody thing first and then post (with the risk out running out of steam and not even getting to post anything)?

Which is all premature, really - the story is busily weaving itself into something resembling a coherent whole, yes, but it's so far only doing it in my head. Why don't we have telepathic typewriters? *grumbles*

For what it's worth, back when I used to write multi-part fics, I pretty much always wrote the whole thing before posting, primarily because many, many times I did something later in the story that would require a change or "fix" earlier in the story to make it fit or work. Just something to thing about.

I was just thinking about telepathic typewriters two days ago - or of when we're brain-wired to the internet, and can compose and post entries to DW while we run, etc. Good times.
