I just wanted to take the opportunity to show off my Yuletide gift fics:

First, I got a lovely little Rollo-centered Vikings fic: Solid Ground, which features Rollo being a good uncle to a younger-than-we-are-used-to Bjorn (and Bjorn being a nasty little thing - really, Lagertha, you need to take that boy in hand). Admittedly, I wouldn't have thought of Rollo as a tanner, mostly because his house in the series seemed to be located in the middle of Kattegat, but on the other hand, that does provide an extra reason for him come across as stand-offish and anti-social.

Also, I got not one, but two Madness treats, both of them based on Otto Frello paintings! The Black House, which is a poem expanding on the picture Det sorte hus, and Picnic, With Guest, which weaves a lovely little word-picture to go with Sofastykke.

All in all, I'd say I got some fine presents this year. And treats. Maybe next year I'll finally get around to actually writing treats instead of just my assignment. One of these years...

As for my assignment, well, it seems to be doing all right. My recipient seems to like it well enough, and it's doing pretty well when it comes to hits and kudos and comments. Admittedly, at first I was a bit down, because shortly after the archive opened (fortunately after my recipient had commented, at least) some people over at coal apparently decided that my story was fit only for ridicule and yeah, that was a bit - except, oddly enough, now I'm actually feeling kinda bemused by the whole thing, because, well, seriously? This fic? Have the wank-worthy pickings truly been so slim this year that this is the fic they want to bitch about? Seriously? *pets trolls and refrains from feeding them through sheer strength of will*
