Hello Dear Yulegoat.

First of all, thank you so very much for being my writer. I hope my requests will get your creative juices going and if you despair of me completely, please remember that optional details are optional. Though of course I do hope I'm not that horrible a yuletide victim :-)

Anyway...

Things I generally like in fic: slash and gen; plot; snark; fluff; happy endings; awesome characters being awesome; crack; twisty plots; surprises.
Dislikes & squicks: non-con; a/b/o, seme/uke, sub/dom and any and all similar power dynamic tropes; very kinky sex (heavy bdsm, watersport, etc.); anachronisms; underage; kidfic; bestiality; mpreg; pwp; genderswap; incest; OC love interests; full-scale AUs (you know, like high school or coffee shop?).

If you feel like doing some traditional Yuletide stalking of me, I can mostly be found on my tumblr these days.

The Dracula Tapes - Fred Saberhagen
Dracula, Joe Keogh

I'd love a story set in the modern day (well, recent past day strictly speaking) of these books, involving Dracula (of course) and Joe Keogh. Perhaps some new misfortune befalls the Southerlands, perhaps Joe has a case that ends up with him having to contact his scary sort-of-in-law. Perhaps the misfortune happens to Joe this time and it's Dracula to the rescue? Or perhaps "Cousin Sherlock" somehow ends up in the modern age - accidental time travel? finally rising from his grave as he was always meant to as his father's son? - (Watson optional) and Dracula calls in Joe and the rest of the family to assist with the readjustment process? Or how is everybody doing in the year of our lord 2015?

I'm terribly fond of this series. I admit the first book, the actual The Dracula Tape, is technically the best, and the two Sherlock Holmes crossovers are lovely, but my favourite stories by far are the stories set in the late 20th century involving the descendants of Mina and Dracula becoming an occasionally overprotective and frankly quite scary uncle - and I particularly find the gradually developing trust between him and Joe Keogh interesting, because they are to a certain degree so very alike - both of them not entirely technically kin, and yet (though Joe does keep a healthy distance at most times - probably just as well...)

Lig og laurbær - Kim Marthedal
Adam Rasmussen, Troy Anthonsen

Post-canon fluff. Post-canon curtain fic. Post-canon figuring out how to work as a couple. Basically, happy not-bloody-Scandinavian-noir post-canon fic.

I adore this book. Don't get me wrong, it's not a sophisticated piece of literature, but I thoroughly enjoyed the story of Adam and Troy meeting and somehow managing to become an item - in between the serial killer plotline and Adam occasionally being frightfully obtuse - I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the slow, falling into each other story and Troy being just enough protective alpha male without ever being too much and basically, I just want it to continue. Do Adam keep living at Troy's house now that the serial killer has been caught? How's their first Christmas together? Is Adam going to stumble all across Troy's life next? Is Adam ever going to be the one to fuck Troy? Tell me everything, dear Yulegoat :-)

Travel Light - Naomi Mitchison
Halla

For this, give me all the Halla fic. Because Halla is awesome. Write me post-canon fic: is she an actual valkyrie now? How does her first "collection" go, considering her opinions about heroes? Or write me friendship fic with Steinvor the valkyrie. Or Halla going on adventures - travelling light, perhaps in search of the dragons that must surely still be out there? Going to China, Japan, maybe the Americas? Or travelling lightly through the centuries, seeing the world change. Perhaps she acquires new nicknames along the way? Just write me Halla. Please?

I adore this book as well. It's wanting adorable books for yuletide year this year. In case you haven't read it, it's an older fantasy novel about Halla, who as a child is saved from her evil stepmother by her Finnish nurse, who can conveniently turn into a bear (because apparently all Finns can do that), and later she's adopted by a dragon. It's a lovely, not particularly long novel, featuring dragons, valkyries, Halla going on adventures and repeatedly saving the day through such feats as fixing horseraces in Constantinopel and running into burning buildings in the land of the Rus and in general being awesome. Because she is. Also, I read her pretty much as an aromantic asexual - which I'm telling you not to ask for issue fic (that would be slightly odd and probably hopelessly anachronistic), but simply as a way to let you know that I'm not really interested in shipfic for this fandom, though if you must, well, there's always Steinvor? But really, I am mostly interested in Halla being awesome genfic. Because she is.
