In 1723 a book was anonymously published in England bearing the title of "Love letters between a certain late nobleman and the famous Mr. Wilson: discovering the true history of the rise and surprising grandeur of that celebrated beau". It was supposed to be the actual love letters between two men (although it might very well just have been political propaganda). Nonetheless, it is quite the amusing read - telling, well, a love story between two men. Complete with secrecy, plots deviced to betray the lovers' secret, cross-dressing - even bashing of a potential female love-interest (could this possibly have been written by a woman, I wonder? Maybe the world´s oldest slash...). Anyway, it´s an amusing read - if you can find it, that is...
