Someone please beat Dansk Folkeparti over the head with a stick. A big fat hard one - oak or teak or something like that. Please. Because honestly, how can they as the only party in the Danish parliament argue against changing the constitution to allow a girl (if the new royal child ends up being a girl) to inherit the throne, even if she gets a brother later. I mean, seriously, the party is lead by a woman - how can they argue against women rulers? I can understand people saying "let's wait and see, maybe it's a boy, constitutional changes are a lot of work, maybe it can wait for a generation" (I might even be one of them), I cannot understand those that say no.

Because they're cantankerous, contrary bastards. I have to wonder if they're behind this whole nonsense about removing portostøtte as well. Given that both V and K have as their official stated policies in Håndbog i Dansk Politik (2003) "momsfritagelsen og portostøtte skal fastholdes", I'm thinking DFP might be responsible for their 180.

Or maybe the politicians have simply done what any politician does - "man har et standpunkt til man tager et nyt", as they say.
