Today the mailman brought me a piece of plastic. Creditcard-sized, the ugliest pinkish-purple colour I have ever seen, very wavy. In one corner there is DK surrounded by the EU stars, below it me in black and white. On the back it says that it expires in 2052.
I have a driver's licence :-) Yay.

But if you don't really need one and can borrow your parents' car, that's perfectly fine. :)

It's the taxes that kill you. The registration and all that. Take the price of the car, then nearly triple it. I found this price level comparison table - it's in Danish, I'm afraid, but still. http://www.ks.dk/publikationer/konkurrence/2001/autobranchen/autobranchen-30/ It's the table at the bottom of the page - first column is prices before tax, second column is after. Everything is in percentages, although that should be obvious. Oh, and Germany is called Tyskland in Danish, in case you didn't know.
So - in case there was any doubt - unless I really need a car of my own, I'll just stick with my parents' :-)
