This morning the world was white. Snow on the ground, many days old by now. A thick mist in the air. And everywhere there was rime - rime on the ground, rime on the trees, rime on an old spiderweb that nobody has cared to remove since sometime last year. Pure whiteness.
I was out just after sunset, before it gets really dark. And now the world was dripping, every time I passed a tree it was dripping. It was - just barely - thaw, and it drip, drip, dripped. I walked under a tree and it was like rain and then I had passed it.
Did I mention that it was a beautiful day today?
