It is strange that the whole Muslim world is outraged because a Danish newspaper published some cartoons, boykotting, burning down embassies, demonstrating. A while back, when the news was that American soldiers had flushed the Quran down the toilet, well, there was outrage, but nothing close to this. But then, I'm with that Grand Mufti who has said that this is all partly because everybody sees Denmark as a weak country, an easy victim...
It's a shame someone like Jens Jørgen Thorsen is not around to really give the Muslims something to be offended by - I mean, he did it so well, offending the Christians in Denmark - and that can occasionally be a challenge. But then, he is just an example of the fact that blasphemy as a crime doesn't work in Denmark - Trille's song about how God is a dirty old pervert who spy on little girls when they masturbate is another. You want the reason why you don't see Danes mocking Christianity on a daily basis? Simple: Been there, done that, got the bloody t-shirt.
Finally, I predict that World War III will start sometime around the beginning of revue season this summer.
