I survived yet another round of we-need-to-fire-x-number-of-people-to-be-able-to-make-the-budget-cuts-demanded-by-the-government at work today. And I didn't even get yelled at by a conspiracy theorist who was upset when I told him he couldn't leave papers warning us about the dangers of chemtrails all over the place, so that makes it better than yesterday.

What I've recently finished reading

Martin Jensen: Eske Litle: byfoged i Assens
Perhaps not the most inventive murder mystery I've ever read, but the portrayal of the medieval town of Assens is off to a promising start, and I must admit I found it refreshing to read a medieval murder mystery that isn't focused on a monk or merchant widow or travelling illuminator, but stars the actual law enforcement of the time.

Karin Boye: Kallocain
Why am I enjoying the really classic dystopias when I have such an aversion to current ones?

Don Rosa: Hall of Fame vol. 7.
Even more ducks.

Kieron Gillen: The Wicked + the Divine: Rising Action
This series continues being gorgeous and intriguing (and finally people are clueing in to Ananke being the bad guy).

Brian Michael Bendis: Ultimate Comics Spider-Man vol. 1.

Kohei Horikoshi: My Hero Academia vol. 1.

Simon Stålenhag: Flodskörden
This is an absolutely gorgeous book, as was the previous one. I mean, the part where the various robots somehow develop extra-terrestrial cancer and get organic growths and trail blood and stuff all over the place isn't, but the vagabond robots and almost-but-not-quite real Swedish landscapes are lovely.

Scott Snyder: American Vampire vol. 8.

Fred Van Lente: Ivar, Timewalker: Ending History

What I've recently watched

Avengers: Infinity War for the second time, so that doesn't really count and doesn't get a number.

What I'm reading now

Ninefox Gambit by Yoon Ha Lee and Valkyrie's Song by M.D. Lachlan

What I'm reading next

Maybe I should remove this point. I never seem to answer it accurately.

Total number of books and comics read this year: 106
