So, raise your hands, people who'll be temporarily subbing at the local library in your country's oldest town/urban area. One day a week for the next couple of months. Was around to say hello and get the grand tour of the library today - it's quite nice. Also, took a brief stroll through downtown Ribe, across the stream, down a couple of old streets, around the cathedral - not really the right weather for playing the tourist today, but I have plans for when the weather improves, oh yes.
You know, it's funny - Esbjerg is mostly late 19th, early 20th century and Ribe is mostly medieval. And Elsinore - medieval with late 19th century, early 20th century additions. It's like someone took my home town, split it in two and increased the size of everything. Except not really, but, you know...
Also, completely unrelated, but I'd kind of like to see Christian VIII's Palace at Amalienborg while it's open to the public for the next couple of months. Is it voyeristic to think it would be cool to see what those artists and renovators have thought appropriate for the home of the future king and queen of your country? Probably a moot point anyway - Copenhagen is not as around the corner as it used to be back in Elsinore...
