Anybody have any good conspiracy theories about the dead bird showers that seem to keep happening around the place? Aliens? The Apocalypse? Secret military testing of new weapon? Anything?
Well, neither of those gives a satisfactory explanation to the whole hundreds-of-one-specific-species-of-bird in each location, not the same species twice, locations literally continents apart, birds raining dead from the sky thing that seems to be going on.
Remember when Swine Flu was the rage, and how the media made it their top priority to find out where it was coming from and spreading to at all times at every minute of every hour of every day?
Same thing is happening right here. Since communication technology has become cheap enough that everyone in the world can have one, it becomes much easier to report such things than it was say, 10~20 years ago.
Also, this happens all the time (http://www.nwhc.usgs.gov/mortality_events/ongoing.jsp). I wonder if other countries have wildlife mortality stats online.
