You know, I really don't understand people who don't vote. And here I could add the whole usual list of reasons, including duty and obligations and the simple fact that you have no right to bitch about politics if you can't at least be bothered to get off the couch once every few years and put an x somewhere on a piece of paper. But I won't.

See, the real reason why I don't understand people not voting is a lot simpler. It's because I myself have yet to reach the point where my immediate reaction to an election is not "weee! I get to vote! I get to have a say!", it's because I can still remember how frustrating it was as a teenager - complete with opinions and teachers finding an election a useful excuse to teach about politics and everything - and yet not being entitled to vote, while some little old lady got to vote "for that politician with the nice smile". (This would also be the reason why I am all for lowering the minimum age, but that's another discussion).

I sincerely hope I'll never grow disenchanted enough with politics to loose that, even when elections are like the pair today - one being the EU parliament one (which is sometimes kind of hard to see the point of, EU being the bureaucratic monster it is) and the other being about equal rights when it comes to inheriting the Danish throne (which seems to have become about everything but that).
