The term godless heathen - tell me, am I the only one who thinks it's a bit of an oxymoron? I mean, don't heathens just tend to be the people who believe in - well, some other god(s) than whoever is speaking? Nevermind.
And that's the way my mind goes when trying to find a way to mention that I've now officially left the oldest fantasy book club in the country - and good riddance to bad rubbish, thank you very much. Seriously, how did it take me this long?
To celebrate, and because my latest prompt ficlet has made me want to write more Almighty Johnsons, I'm taking crossover prompts for The Almighty Johnsons (I know I've got a few unwritten prompts, I'll get to them, I promise). Any takers?

I really did not guess that's what you were referring to.
Any particular thing that made you finally do it?

And I think it was just a matter of the final straw - I mean, I'm an atheist, of the lazy-never-gets-around-to-actually-leaving breed, except as of late, Folkekirken has, well, come across as more and more acting as if it has the moral high ground, with some priests always getting interviewed when morality and ethics is the issue of the day, while some of the actual priests then proceed to say things that is, well, not moral according to my moral compass - the whole venom-spouting some of them produced after the government finally announced that they were going to finally allow gay marriage was just the latest example, but still, I just - why should I give money to an organization that believes in coddling that sort of bigots instead of just firing them for not doing their bloody jobs?! And honestly, I couldn't come up with an answer that satisfied me.
Also, my sister finally got around to leaving. It's amazing what seeing somebody else doing a thing can do to your resolve to finally get it done, you know? :-)

Thank you for explaining your view! I definitely think the whole idea of having a state religion is completely ludicrous, and in a perfect world I'd just want folkekirken to GTO my state already. But BECAUSE all those assholes are spouting all that crap about marriage, I sort of want to see them eat dirt, you know? I WANT the marriage laws changed, because it's against my political beliefs to have a state institution that is not FOR all its citizens. It's ridiculous that we have a law that says that to name your child, no matter what your religion, you must contact a Christian org in order to do so. It's archaic!
I wonder, if enough people leave, will the govenment at some point HAVE to separate chruch and state, simply because folkekirken is no longer catering to a mjority of citizens...?
