I don't seem to be getting a lot of fic-writing done these days. I wish I did. I mean, I have some unfilled prompts lying around and I've even got ideas for a few of them and a couple of other things and stuff I need to continue, like the Winchester Edda, but somehow, I can't quite seem to get around to the actual writing part so much these days. Maybe later.
Anyway, thought I might as well do that stories-with-most-hits-on-AO3 meme that's making the rounds, seeing as I finally got around to getting my stuff up on AO3 earlier this year.
1. Tricksters Anonymous (Supernatural/Thor, 788 hits)
2. The Devil in Disguise (the Diabolical Remix) (Pirates of the Caribbean, 700 hits)
3. The Extraordinary Tale of the Achronological Detective (Doctor Who/Sherlock, 648 hits)
4. Five Guests Who Simply Couldn't Stay For Dinner - and the Gentleman Who Did (Norse myth + Good Omens/Sherlock/Stargate: Atlantis/Highlander/PotC/Sanctuary, 571 hits)
5. Sometimes They Stray (Supernatural/Thor, 498 hits)
6. The Origin of Theobroma (Supernatural/Stargate: Atlantis, 450 hits)
7. A Case of Mistaken Identity (Supernatural/Stargate: SG-1, 348 hits)
8. In the Dark (Sherlock, 299 hits)
9. Falling into Heaven, Falling into Hell (Pirates of the Caribbean, 270 hits)
10. Left Behind (Supernatural, 261 hits)
And what to make of that? Well, that the stuff I've written in big fandoms seems to have more appeal than, say, more obscure things like The Almighty Johnsons.
That two of my three xover_exchange fics have made it and that the one that didn't just confirms the previous point by being a Dr. Horrible's Sing-along Blog/Pushing Daisies crossover and thus more obscure than the ones that made the cut (still, that ficathon seems to bring out something good in me - the two stories on the top ten are also the two stories of mine that's gotten translated - into French and Russian, respectively).
That I suspect the only reason The Devil in Disguise is placed as high as it is, is because it has been on AO3 for nearly two years, being one of the few fics that I got up there before the big getting-stuff-on-AO3 thing I did in december/january - and quite frankly, it really isn't one of my better works. Actually, it's the fic that pretty much convinced me to not play in the remix_redux again until and unless I qualify in some fandom other than Pirates.
That they're mostly crossovers - but then, if crossover count as a fandom, I'm pretty sure that would be my main one anyway.
That I really need to write some more. Dammit.
