Which quite frankly leaves me kind of astounded that apparently Freya and Njord managed to stay together for the about 16 years it would have taken to have a set of sons in the age range from Mike to Axl (Freya doesn't seem that old at Mike's coming-of-age ceremony, making me wonder if the relationship at least on her side started before she turned 21, which might explain it). And there was a couple of flashbacks in season two that showed that it certainly wasn't lovey-dovey all the time. And that at least some of the boys were taking sides - Ty was his mother's little protector, Mike adored his dad - the usual.
And then daddy up and left (maybe Skadi came along?) at some point. And then mom left to be a tree, and Mike was left in the role of Charlie from Party of Five (did you ever see that show?), and there's probably plenty of dislike from especially the then-teenagers towards the suddenly-in-the-role-of-parent big brother. While big brother was trying to adjust to having his whole world basically thrown for a loop and turned into an urban fantasy story, while his best friend landed in a coma, and at some point, "cousin" Olaf must have shown up for the first time post Mike's 21st and frankly? I want that scene - Mike's first meeting with his granddad. Oh, how I want it.
All of which aside, I actually think that the Johnson brothers do like each other - mostly. Most of the time. Oh, Mike and Anders have their big disliking each other thing, but the main reason for that is explained in the series and came later, after Anders became Bragi, and it's kind of spoilery. And Anders and Ty - they're very close in age and I suspect they had the most sibling-y relationship of the boys, actually - with all the love/hate dynamics that can entail, without any particular reasons involved. And besides, I wonder how much of the relationships might have been influenced by what gods the boys were to be - whether the god fits the host or the host starts getting influenced by the god before their 21st, there's certainly some hints that there's some correlation (Freya accurately predicts that Anders is going to be Bragi in a flashback) - though that might leave you wondering why Ty can be such good friends with his granddad...

Oh, the ideas of god-personality vs. human-personality is kind of interesting. Because yeah, I can see it in the older ones, to a degree, but not in Axl. But then, the others have several years on him there.

Occasionally - wait, that's not what you meant... Actually, Hodr and Hel make for a perfectly sweet couple - at least until the branding iron gets involved...
But yes, you're right, Hodr and Hel are just wrong, because of course Hel should be shipped with Balder, as anybody who has read Valhalla knows :-)

Anyway yeah, Hel has the hots for Balder, of course ;-)
