I am pretty indifferent to the announcement that the two Hobbit movies are, in fact, going to be three Hobbit movies - I suspect it has something to do with how you can't make a big fantasy movie these days without including a proper battle... I wonder how long it will be before Peter Jackson announces that he's going to do an epic trilogy based on the Silmarillion - mind you, I actually like the Silmarillion, but still...

What I do - well, not worry about, exactly, but I am kind of wondering if the first movie will get far enough to allow us to meet Benedict CumberbatchSmaug, as he is definitely one of the things I am most looking forward to.

I had managed to forget it was going to be in two parts, and now it's going to be in three? That's a bit excessive, no?

Does sound a bit excessive to me, too. And I share you're almost-worry that that means we'll have to wait longer for Benedict Cumberbatch Smaug, as well :S
