21. Argo
It's okay. It's not the best movie I've seen all year, but then again, neither is it the worst. And it's okay. Very good at building the tension during the escape. Though it seems to be suffering from mood swings, going from serious hostages-in-Iran to comical make-a-fake-science-fiction-movie back to serious-hostage escape, which is a bit jarring. Anyway, the movie's fine.

22. Boardwalk Empire season 1.
Ooo, me like. See, this is HBO when it's good. Gorgeous setting, interesting characters, good plot. And I am totally shipping Nucky/Margaret, just saying - if those two can just work out their differences they could become a genuine power couple.

23. Laputa
Quite pretty. Not that exited about the storyline, but pretty and there were lovely flying scenes (admittedly, that's expected, but still).

24. Men In Black III
It's okay, if not great. Young K was fun. And can I just be weirded out at J keeping a picture of Frank in what appears to be his bedroom?

25. Parade's End
Well, it was nice to see Benedict Cumberbatch in a rare non-villain role (he needs more of those), but apart from that, this was a terribly depressing excuse for a story - and repetitive! Basically, every episode was the same: Sylvia did something nasty, people gossipped maliciously and falsely, and Christopher was noble and decent and wound up in a worse place than where he started...

26. Boardwalk Empire season 2.
Hmmm. I found myself liking Margaret less and less as the season progressed - probably me having an averse reaction to her growing religiousness... Also, that pregnancy storyline was quite possibly one of the creepiest things I've seen in a long time.

27. The Lizzie Bennet Diaries
I don't want it to be over :-(

28. Heroes season 3.
You know what the problem is with this series? It repeats itself. So far, every season involves somebody foreseeing a terrible future event that must be prevented, Peter is emo and annoying, Sylar is scary and serialkiller-ish except for when he has a heroic moment, a couple of characters zigzag the moral lines, but mostly? The Company is finally stopped from hunting special people - what's next? Why, the US government starts hunting special people... (and a possibly interesting plot line involving the moral repercussion and civil rights issues of that got dropped after having been barely even teased). No wonder this show didn't last, it's stuck.

29. Perception season 1.
It's okay. Not great, and occasionally Dr. Pierce managed to activate my embarrassment squick, but mostly, it's okay. Sadly, for a show about a civilian quirky consultant working with a law-enforcement agency, it fails at really fleshing out anybody except the consultant and the lead cop, leaving the show as mostly pure case-of-the-week - and all the chatty hallucinations in the world doesn't save it.

30. Les Misérables
Random: well, George Blagden couldn't have gotten much further from Athelstan if he tried, could he. Anyway, it was - actually, don't get me wrong, I liked the story and the visuals were impressive (even if they occasionally reminded me of another, more cannibalistic musical), but most of the songs didn't really catch me and I didn't particularly like the cinematic choice of letting the camera focus on the character's face during long song sequences. (Also, I sort of wanted Javert to be on that barricade in the end...)
