It seems to have been the personal preference of the girl interviewed in the article, which makes it pretty weird to state it as some sort of general rule.
It doesn't help that this is just the latest in a series of articles and interviews in various Danish media, that have all discovered Movellas - a fanfic archive mostly catering to the teenage/mary-sue/bandom segment - and are proceeding to act as if this is all fandom and fanfiction is. Once I shrug, twice I shrug - but this is getting kind of ridiculous...
