So, I was reading an (admittedly, not particularly good) Vikings fanfic and suddenly, a character addresses Lagertha as "Lagertha Lothbrok", and a little later, the same character addressed Rollo as "Rollo Lothbrok".

This is what I get for daring to venture into the pit of voles, isn't it?

Yes. Yes it is. That is what you get and I don't think I'd even advise trying to educate there. I mean, you could think of the lack of understanding and dismissal of important detail as part of the Pit's charm, I suppose. But mostly it's not worth your rage.

Oh, don't worry, I'm not quite that stupid - it's just, I've read all the Vikings fic on AO3 and ventured into the wilds in the hope of, well, something.

Anyway, it's not like the show doesn't have it's own name issues. I mean, apart from the ridiculousness of Kattegat, I am still wondering what the poor earl's name actually was. I mean, Haraldson, yes, fine, his dad was named Harald - but what was he named???
