And season 3 are go. (What is it with me and Norse myth/Viking related fandoms? Did I read Erik Menneskesøn one too many times as a kid?)

I really hope they're not going to have a lot of Anders in this season - yeah, I miss him when he's gone, but he's so annoying. I hope Dean O'Gorman's newfound fame isn't going to lead to the show catering to his fans and their tendency to woobiefy him...

Oh good, Gaia hasn't gotten completely subsumed by Idunn.

Yum. Fallout and basically everyone being fucked up (except Zeb, who just gets to freak out at random appletrees) :-)

Random thought: I wonder if Ty is vulnerable to Anders' creepy mind-control/date-rape-drug powers now?

Much as I adore Olaf-the-cloudcuckoolander, I do rather like Olaf the voice of reason and experience (not wisdom, but the guy is a 90+ years old oracle) peeping out on occasion. Ingrid, of course, is always the voice of reason - after all, she's the goddess thereof. Though having Gaia just wander off to Anders after that talk... not sure I like that. Not sure I'm convinced is perhaps more like it (though points for how - resigned? - Anders looks when he opens the door and sees Gaia).

Anyway. Okay. So, considering that Axl, Gaia and Anders are, IMHO, the least interesting characters on the show and most of the episode revolves around them - yeah, a bit of a slow start. Also, while all the fallout is lovely (I would have loved to see the immediate reactions, but ½ hour after last season's finale works), I'm kind of missing knowing the Maori gods' reaction. Also, I'm missing Colin, but that's just in general.

Also, random, but I'm getting the feeling that the special effects budget has probably gone back down to around the first season's level?

So. To sum up - not the most amazing season opener, but everybody is nice and fucked up (well, except Zeb - and Olaf, Tracy and Ingrid seem to have worked out their differences). Just like we like them :-)
