81. Treme season 1.
This is a gorgeous show, let's just get that straight from the start. And even if you didn't know it's by a lot of the same people who worked on The Wire, I think you could probably guess - and Clarke Peters in full Mardi Gras Indian get-up is a sight worth seeing. That said, it's not as good as The Wire - partly, I think, because it's a lot more one-sided tale Treme is telling. The Wire was good at showing situations from every side they had, but Treme has pretty much picked its side, and that's the side of New Orleans, the old school music and food and culture New Orleans, gorgeous and wild and indignant. It's a very indignant show, actually. But gorgeous.

82. Iron Man - Extremis
You know, I found myself sort of reminded of those ancient crappy animated series of Fantastic Four and Namor and Captain America and Thor. Story's good, though. But then, I knew that, I had read the comic.

83. Pacific Rim
So, what's to keep the Kaiju from opening a new portal in, say, five years. Maybe in the Atlantic this time. Oh, wait, that's the sequel, right? Kaiju eating Big Ben and someone impaling one of the Eiffel Tower. Anyway, I can see how come fandom's all over this - the drift thing is fandom-nip. And I did like the characters and Raleigh and Mako's bond (though it annoyed me how he kept standing up for her and saving her - that scene where he was "defending her virtue" from Chuck, it really should have ended with her stepping forward and... well, anyway. And just because I'm odd, I was sorry to not get to see more of the Russian crew - they looked so wonderfully, over-the-top stereotypical.

84. The Wolverine
I liked the post-credit scene (of course, who didn't?). Okay, the movie was fine, too - admittedly, I found myself longing for the action scenes when the talk scenes got too long and frankly, I never felt the Logan/Mariko vibe. Mind you, I quite enjoyed Yukio and the growing friendship between her and Logan, and during Logan's powerless stage, I found myself reminded of the Die Hard movies, when McClane will get more and more injured and yet stagger on. So, all in all, a perfectly fine movie - now, let's hope the next will be more than just fine. *bounces expectantly*

85. Highlander the series season 6.
So, why did they never make a Methos series? Anyway, a lot of this season didn't impress me. The overt fantasy of the Ahriman arc didn't exactly fit the show, the It's-a-wonderful-life trope isn't a favourite of mine, and then there were all those lady immortals running around - and they could have been potentially interesting if they hadn't been just here-one-episode-and-gone-the-next (I mean, one was a Spartan warrior woman, for crying out loud). Also, it didn't help that Duncan spent several episodes either butting into other people's business or "helping" - and in several episodes were basically busy making friends with the wrong side. I did rather enjoy the Joe-and-Methos episode - why didn't they make that show? I would have loved that show?

86. The Methos Chronicles
Now, that is crappy animation. Also, that didn't quite feel like Methos. Ah well...

87. Highlander Reunion
I repeat, why did they never make the Methos show?

88. Outland
Remember Queer As Folk? Well, it was once on holiday in Australia, met The Big Bang Theory and had a fling. It's a show about five queer Australian sci-fi geeks, who take turns hosting meet-ups (sound familiar?). I must admit I cringed my way through the first episode, partly because the hosting was, well, involuntary, and partly because the host spent most of the episode pretending not be a geek to his potential new boyfriend. I just. Anyway. Out of the characters, my favourites are Andy (who is just plain adorable) and Rae. I dislike Fab, but he seems the sort of character that's supposed to make you dislike him, and I never warmed to Toby, but I didn't dislike him. Finally, Max - I must admit I found myself not liking him at all - he spends the entire first episode acting ashamed of his hobby and his friends, and then in the second he goes snooping in Rae's private things and proceed to show them to others, and that just. I don't like Max. He's clearly supposed to be the "normal" guy for people to identify with and he's just. Yeah. Anyway...

89. War and Peace
This was disappointing. I mean, I could tell there is an interesting story there, but the acting was stilted and even the "gorgeous period drama" potential never quite. Well. Never quite managed to be as dazzling as it might. I should probably just read the book some day...

90. Hope Springs
So that's what River Song gets up to in her spare time. Right, to be more serious - if you like a show with lots of women characters and found families, this might be your thing. It's not perfect - for instance, I'd have liked for Josie to have had even just a one-episode love interest (I mean, it's always nice with a queer character in the main cast, but still, the three other girls have relationships) and the ending is one of those dissatisfactory cliffhangers that never led to a second season. On the other hand, I adored the scene when the ladies are finally sat down and are telling the cop the truth and breaking his brain. Poor boy.

91. Weekend
Zzzzz. Sorry, but this was boring. Probably especially if you're me and fail to find sex scenes edgy...

92. Valentine
So, you got a bunch of Greek gods living in present day Los Angeles, match-making destined couples. And, well, I can see why it never got more than the one season. Most of the soul-mates-of-the-week plots couldn't have carried a bad romantic comedy - also, I got annoyed with how it was always the negative consequences of the women that we were told, though plus on one of the couples being lesbian. Anyway, Greek gods match-making was done better in Cupid, IMHO. Apart from that, my favourite character was Ari - Ares, god of war (also known as Greg Ellis, also known as Lt. Theodore Groves - and no, that wasn't why) - mostly because he's the only one of the gods who seem to spend time actually taking the vague threat seriously, and while we are told that he is a bad person, we are never actually shown that. We are shown Ari occasionally helping the Valentines in the matchmaking efforts, we are shown him hunting for the god-killing weapon to protect the other gods - the only bad thing we actually see him do is refuse Grace a divorce and threaten to kill Ray if he ever catches her having an affair with him, and frankly, this would make me worry more except a) the only person who seems really upset about the no-divorce-thing is Ray (of course, Ari and Grace live apart and the marriage doesn't really seem to be more than a piece of paper, so) and b) I was left the impression that the threatening was mostly Ari's way of saying "I know you are having an affair with your first husband, but as long as you don't embarrass me in public with it, I'll continue ignoring it". Anyway, to sum up - Valentine has a decent concept, but it never actually manages to be interesting and most of the characters are either dull or stupid, so...

93. Die Welle
Hmmm. I get what this was doing, sure, but honestly - it never quite seemed to go that far, if that makes sense?

94. RED 2
You know what I want? I want a spin-off/sequel all about Victoria and Ivan being awesome (they can adopt Han and bring him along for the ride).

95. Reawakening
Point the first: I'm beginning to suspect Travis Fimmel of getting typecast - most of his roles I've seen so far have been morally at least somewhat questionable. Point the second: Travis Fimmel really shouldn't walk around without his beard, he looks wrong without it - admittedly, this might just be me having imprinted on his Ragnar Lothbrok ;-)

96. A Good Day To Die Hard
Meh

97. The Many Loves of Jane Austen

98. Prokofiev: Peter and the Wolf
I think I would have enjoyed this more without the narrator. He felt very intrusive and like the plot (and the music) constantly had to be put on hold while he spoke.

One of these days I should see Treme too. And I do think I should see Pacific Rim again *G*
And I would love to see that spin-off from Red. (PS: Got my movie gold card! :D After we saw Red 2.)
I've never heard of Outland, but that sounds cute and fun. (Max sounds like Michael in US QaF. Never liked him either.)

Wait, did I watch AGDTDH yet? I can't remember, but think maybe yes? Forgettable, much?

Ok, I didn't watch that, then. Blowing up Chernobyl sounds like a bad idea for the localish population :(
