I just came home from seeing The Day of the Doctor in the cinema and it was awesome.
Apart from the movie itself, though, what was really awesome was everybody else. A cinema full of Doctor Who fans - and several in costume. There were several Doctors, at least one Dalek, a couple of Tardis'es, an Amy with eyepatch - oh, and a very convincing Jack Harkness. And just the experience of watching this episode surrounded by hundreds of other people, that was just - awesome.
Of course, I'm kinda hoping Cinemaxx might be realizing that fans are a viable market segment. There was another sold-out showing waiting to get in as I left, and more tomorrow, and the ticket hadn't been cheap, even considering usual cinema prices in DK, and this for something that DR3 will be streaming legally tomorrow for any Dane to see. I think they must have been surprised - initially, when I got my ticket, there was just the one showing, but it did sell out pretty fast.
