113. Thor: the Dark World
I enjoyed this. Very much. And I'm planning to watch it again. Admittedly, I kept getting annoyed with things - Odin's continuing failure as a parent (though considering Asgardian lifespans, for all we know he merely intended for Loki to experience a time-out for a decade or two until everybody had had some time to get some distance and perspective) and his casual speciesm (a goat? - no wonder Loki didn't see a problem with conquering Earth), Jane's role (Darcy has to almost bully her into science and then she gets infected and has to be saved/cured by the hero - even the lovely scene at Greenwich isn't her science saving the day, but Selvig's), not to mention: where the hell was SHIELD? Why was Selvig without a support network? It's fine, scrambling jets when the invasion happens, but dammit - where the hell was SHIELD???

Anyway, I loved the brotherly banter, Loki being sneaky (and actually coming across as if he mostly had a plan, once things got rolling), the Captain America cameo, the subway scene, Selvig's reaction to Thor telling him that Loki's dead (relief, instant and pure, except then he takes half a second to actually see how broken Thor is and offers his condolences - actually, for all he was wasted on "comic relief" in this movie, I think Selvig was one of my favourite's this time around).

114. Downton Abbey season 4.
Is it just me or is this getting terribly repetitive? Apart from that - I wonder if there is anybody shipping the Dowager/Isobel?

115. From Up on Poppy Hill
This is a very lovely, quiet sort of movie. I particularly liked the clubhouse - it just seemed a fun, crazy sort of place, with room for all the nerds. :-)

116. The Wizard of Oz
And thus another ticky-box is ticked off on the continuing road of my cultural education...

117. Kon-Tiki
I worry a little that Gustaf Skarsgård might be in danger of getting typecast, what with being in so many things were he embarks upon epic, historical, impossible journeys to the west with a bunch of crazy Norwegians... Anyway, I quite liked this movie. It has some amazing scenes along the way. Even if Thor Heyerdahl's theories later got disproven by DNA...

118. Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor
It was awesome. And everybody lives! (except the Daleks, but oh well...). John Hurt was excellent as the war weary not-a-Doctor-anymore, and I loved every scene with more than one Doctor in it. And all the references and bits and I'm sure I missed a bunch of those. Admittedly, the Zygon plot was a bit heavy-handed, but what can you do. Also, while John Hurt was good, I really wish Christopher Eccleston had been properly in it, but then, Nine's mine Doctor.

119. The World's End
I must admit, this wasn't quite my thing. I mean, there was fun bits and bits I could tell was supposed to be fun, but just didn't hit me that way, but honestly. It's okay, but that's all. Sorry.

120. Gravity
This was gorgeous. The plot was, well, preditable and a tad too convenient, but still - the movie is gorgeous. I must admit I didn't quite get the awe-inspiring effect of the 3D that other people apparently got. Ah well...

121. Haven season 2.
You know what I really like about Haven? How fundamentally optimistic it is, at least so far. Yes, there are forces who want to start a witch-hunt against the Troubled - but our heroes fight them and our heroes solve Trouble-related situations episode after episode, and they work things out, and not by killing. Young girls afflicted with overwhelming desire to eat hearts? Easy, set up a place for them by the local slaughterhouse. Also, I rather like Dwight.

122. Orphan Black season 1.
I actually expected to cringe my way through part of this, considering my embarrassement squick and the potential for triggering it with characters masquerading as other characters. Strangely enough, that didn't happen. And I rather like this show and I'm looking forward to more - though I'm not sure the whole "oh-no-they-patented-us" would hold up in court.

I went to the movies and watched Gravity yesterday in 3D, and yeah, I totally got the awe-inspiring effect. It was the first movie I've seen where I've appreciated the 3D at all, actually--in Avengers I just found it annoying, for example.
