Friday I was invited to the christmas party at my former (and hopefully maybe possibly future if something comes up and they remember I exist 7-9-13) workplace.
Saturday I went to
kabal42's place, to hang out with him,
ximeria,
calvinahobbes,
lysanatt,
blnchflr and mystery guest D., and in the evening, skuf and calvina went to see The Hobbit, while the rest of us ventured into Tivoli to see this year's Crazy Christmas Cabaret: Smartacus. Which was basically a mixture of every sword-and-sandals trope and movie ever + whatever else they'd felt like adding, incl. a fierce Viking (named Brian Bluetooth (and I'll bet anything his dad's name is Bent van Helsingør)), a rebel slave leader named Smartacus Bondage (a Scot and son of the famous Spartacus), Asterix and Obelix and loads of general crazyness. It was fun. I quite liked it.
Notable by her absence was Vivienne McKee herself, this being her first year of not being the leading lady of the show, but just producing, directing, writing - all that stuff. It actually worked just fine on stage without her - it's surprising how much of a magnet she is when she is there, but the show worked just fine without her - and without the good Doctor van Helsingør.
Also notable by her absence was
mqdk, who had had to cancel last minute. She was missed.
Anyway, today the survivors of yesterday met up at kabal42's for an attempt at a write-in - I'm not convinced most of us got that much work done (some, sure, but not that much), but it was nice and relaxed.
