Another year, another bunch of fic. And my Vikings fannishness is still going strong, I see. At least, I don't seem to have committed any actual non-Vikings fic. Not even a crossover. How odd.

Anyway, letting the last be the first, I present to you all: My Yuletide fanfic

Also of note this year was Vita Æthelstani - which is the first time I ever participated in a bigbang and was illustrated by the amazing gryphon2k - and which is essentially the AU story about Athelstan the very unlucky missionary.

Apart from those, I've written a bunch of mostly ficlet-sized fics.

Dream a Little Dream of Me, where Ragnar dreams of Athelstan's cruxifiction.

The Lady or the Tiger, written while season two was still airing, featuring Athelstan being offered the choice between Ecbert and Ragnar.

Of All Roman Things..., also written while the season was airing, involves Athelstan running away from Ecbert and stealing a scroll of what turns out to be Tacitus' Germania in the process.

... but betrayal with treachery, written while we were all conspiracy theorying about Horik and Ecbert and pretty much everything.

And Afterwards Remember, being a post-Ragnar's-death fic about Athelstan.

Melkorka, wherein Athelstan is actually King Ecbert's younger son.

Einherjar, where Athelstan dies and goes to Valhalla ahead of Ragnar.

Bibliophilia, which is a tiny Ecbert/Athelstan fic featuring Ecbert the librarian falling for an avid young reader.

Charm of Ill Intent, a very brief ficlet about a magically deaged Ragnar and the troubles of looking after him.

Luke 3:11, about Athelstan borrowing Ragnar's lovely blue tunic.

Hræsvelgr, featuring Floki telling scary stories one stormy autumn night.

Let Me Take You Down involves Ragnar, Athelstan and a bowl of strawberries.

Also, I wrote the second chapter of Inn Mátki Munr almost a year ago now and really should be continuing that. And a few three sentence ficlets along the way.

Basically, for most of this year I've been writing pretty short fic (Vita Æthelstani was written so that it was barely done before the second season started airing, so that hardly counts). I really need to get back in the saddle and write something longer, something with more story to it. And continue me Athelstan/Rollo fic. And stuff. And maybe get around to posting on DW/LJ more often instead of drowning myself in tumblr all the time.

I had ambitions of writing you a Travel Light treat for Yuletide, but alas, it did not happen. Ah well, there's always NYR. : )

Don't feel bad. I keep meaning to write a treat for somebody - anybody - and somehow november/december is always busy and I never manage. I ought to be ashamed of myself.
