Books
Alex Beecroft: The Reluctant Berserker
The ending felt a bit too neat - as in, I suspect Leofgar and Wulfstan still have a long way to go for their relationship to function properly. But I do hope the best for them. And can I just say that I adore the way the book handles the supernatural world, religious and magic? There's too many historical novels that either let the world be obviously realistic, which is fine, but also acts as if both intelligent people and of course the magic users themselves always knew that it was just tricks, which is annoying, and other books just go too far in the other direction and become straigh-up historical fantasy. This one managed to weave a world where we're shown the belief, and I like that. It reminds me a bit of Teddy Vork's Diget when it comes to that.
Bernard Cornwell: The Burning Land
The books are good enough, but I've started to worry every time a new women character is introduced, because frankly, most of them don't last very long...
Genevieve Cogman: The Masked City
I swear the Venice thing was just a coincidence...
Marina Fiorato: The Venetian Contract
Neil Gaiman: Trigger Warning: Short Fictions & Disturbances
Kvinner i vikingtid
Harper Lee: Go Set a Watchman
If this was the first draft, basically - that's a pretty impressive level of re-writing...
Marie Lu: The Young Elites
Sjón: Skygge-Baldur
Sixten Svensson: Sandheden om snaphaneløgnen
Well, that's a book that could have used an editor...
Tim Whitmarsh: Battling the Gods: Atheism in the Ancient World
I think I might be an Epicurean? At least a little bit...
Comics
Kurt Busiek: Astro City: The Dark Age: Brothers & Other Strangers
Kurt Busiek: Autumnlands: Tooth and Claw
Which reminds me, it's been ages since I read any Astro City.
Gerry Duggan: Deadpool vs. S.H.I.E.L.D.
Paul Jenkins: Hellblazer: Critical Mass
Paul Jenkins: Hellblazer: In the Line of Fire
So that's where the demon!John comes from.
Paul Jenkins: Hellblazer: Last Man Standing
Aka that time John got kissed by King Arthur...
Paul Jenkins & Garth Ennis: Hellblazer: How To Play With Fire
Noelle Stevenson: Nimona
Mark Waid: Indestructible Hulk: S.M.A.S.H. Time
