First of all, I'd like to thank you for writing for me, Dear Yulegoat. I'm looking forward to seeing what you'll come up with.

Things I generally like in fic: slash and gen; plot; snark; fluff; banter; happy endings; awesome characters being awesome; crack; twisty plots; AUs of the if-this-single-thing-had-gone-differently type; surprises.

Dislikes & squicks: non-con; a/b/o, seme/uke, sub/dom and any and all similar power dynamic tropes; very kinky sex (heavy bdsm, watersport, etc.); anachronisms; underage; kidfic; bestiality; mpreg; pwp; genderswap; incest; OC love interests; high-scool and coffeeshop AUs.

If you're the type to stalk your Yuletide victim before pouncing, your best bet these days would be to take a look at my tumblr.

Onwards to the prompts?

Dinotopia - James Gurney

I would very much enjoy something post-canon, something set either now or in the 20th century. A story about Dinotopia finally getting properly connected to the rest of the world.

I've adored the original Dinotopia book for ages - it's beautiful and the worldbuilding is interesting (also: dinosaurs!). I only recently saw the mini-series based on it,and in some ways, I suppose it's that mini-series that lead me to requesting this fandom.

It annoyed me to an unreasonable degree that the mini-series was set in the 21st century, and yet, in the age of aviation and satelitte photos, a landmass the size of Dinotopia could still be unknown - and Dinotopians so utterly out of touch with the rest of us. (I'm not asking for fic involving the mini-series, if anything, it's an example of what I'd rather not get.)

Tell me the story of the "discovery" of Dinotopia. Give me the unhappy Hollywood producer who thought hiring actual dinosaurs for his new movie was a great idea - until they read the script. Give me Dinotopia in the Olympics or Eurovision, or somebody excited to go and see their internet buddy for the first time, except the friend never thought to mention that they are a triceratops.

If coping with the 20th/21st century repercussions of a nation with sentient, extinct beings is not your thing, I might like to see a story delving into the shadier corners of Dinotopian society. Or a story of a new arrival from an earlier time period - a Viking, a Roman?

Zoo City - Lauren Beukes

I'm mostly looking for worldbuilding here. How have the Animalled affected the lives of the rest of the world? Either a story of Zinzi after the book - where does she go? what does she do? - or something set in another part of the world entirely. (Maybe not the US, though? I confess I am particularly curious about how this world's Europe is going.)

I only recently read this book and it fascinated me: this dark, twisted version of what fandom would call a Daemon!AU, set in a part of the world I've consumed very little fiction set in. At the same time, most of the terminology and beliefs we're presented with - apart from the tiny extra chapters - are all very South African (which is good! It's nice when Urban Fantasy isn't always the US), which did leave me wondering how the rest of the world is coping, outside of Afghan warlords and prison systems.

I'd be equally happy with a story featuring Zinzi's adventures as she heads out to find Benoit's family and/or what comes after that or with a story featuring original characters somewhere else. I don't particularly want a crossover or fusion with a pre-existing fandom. And I must admit, being European myself, I might be particularly curious to see how the Animalled live in Europe. Maybe Zinzi keeps going north and crosses the Mediterranean? Maybe something set in France or Denmark or England? Maybe a guy from Transsylvania ended up with a Bat, because even the mystical forces behind the Animals have a sense of humour. Occassionally. Very occassionally.

Or it could be something outside of Europe. How have the Hindu and/or Buddhist parts of the world adapted? How about the Caribbean? Have the local Voodoo and other religions access to magic involving/exploiting/affecting Animals? Or just explaining them? How about everywhere? (Except maybe the US? Like I mentioned, it was refreshing reading urban fantasy not set in the US and I must confess that I don't find myself half as curious about the repercussions over there as pretty much everywhere else.)

深夜食堂 | Shinya Shokudo | Midnight Diner (TV)

Kosuzu, Ryu Kenzaki

I'd like something focusing on these two and their friendship. I'm not so much looking for slash for this pairing, more their slightly odd friendship - Kosuzu and Ryu helping each other out, other people's reactions, etc. Although it would be a very slowburn, UST pairing, if you'd prefer to go the slash way.

I adore this tv show. I came across the fourth season on Netflix, fell in like and managed to track down the first three seasons. I like the quiet, often (but not always) feel-good mood and the small slice of life dramas of the show. Also the food. And the characters: the Master, his more or less peculiar regulars - they all seem nice and interesting.

And yeah, I like Ryu and Kosuzu and their friendship. I'd like to see more of it, one way or another. If that's not inspiring you, I wouldn't object to fic focusing on the Master - his past, where did he get that scar, for instance? Or maybe a story mixing the usual slice-of-life drama of the show with a supernatural element - maybe there's a kitsune regular we haven't met yet? Or a crossover with "Gourmet Samurai"? That's a cute show.
