I am beginning to suspect that I have killed a watch in another lifetime or something, because lately I have been having some really bad watch karma - if you can call it that.

First, the one I used had its watchguard worn through - just regular wear and tear, but since I couldn´t afford a new one, I dug up an old watch I had and began to use that in stead. Now, that watch has a problem with the locking mechanism, so it falls open a lot, but it is just a mild annoyance.

Then one day it stopped - and I had to go get the battery replaced. No problem, sometimes watches need new batteries. A couple of weeks later it needed a new battery again - starting to get annoyed. And then the chain broke - a tiny piece of metal deciding that it no longer wanted to stay where it belonged. Had it fixed and a month passes - and it breaks again, exactly the same place. So, I borrowed a watch from my mum, because I really needed one - and guess what? When I came home that day, it stopped - the battery had run out.

In conclusion, I really, really need a new watch...

Have you considered using a sundial. Much more low maintenance but a bit more bulky to wear on your wrist. ;)

Ah, but a sundial wouldn´t work half the time around here - it´s not like Denmark gets a lot of sun to begin with, and especially not in the wintertime...

I have the same bad karma with watches. They never work. So I simply stopped wearing one and carry my mobile with me instead. ;)

I suppose I could do that - but I am so used to wearing a watch that I actually feel kind of naked without one...

The problems come when the mobile accumulator is empty and you forgot to charge it in time.
