The pics do have something Jack Davenport-ish about them, though I wouldn't have recognized him, either. The nose is his, I'd think. But I pray he gets rid of that beard.
I agree the beard is not so nice on him, but maybe it´s a disguise for the good Commodore - so he can go to Tortuga (like someone somewhere said he does) and not be recognised by nasty (non-Jack) pirates. After all, if we can´t recognize him, how could they?
That's the smile! And the posture. And I always wondered what he'd look like bearded, having read it once or twice in the "James gets stranded on the deserted island" type stories. He could lose the shades, though. And the hat.
