So, I watched the last part of Casanova last night. It's quite a good mini-series. Extremely colourful and entertaining. The guy who plays young Casanova is more cute than handsome - nothing like the drop-dead gorgeous Don Juan Johnny Depp has managed - but he grows on you. And he has a sweet smile. And there are some lovely costumes - I am not sure the movie is particularly accurate when it comes to costumes, but they are lovely all the same.

Of course, I was deeply disappointed about his love-affair with the castrato, but that's just me...

Speaking of castrati...
have you seen Farinelli? A beautiful film full of pretty castrati. I highly recommend it.

As a matter of fact, I have actually seen Farinelli, but it's quite a long time ago. Perhaps I should consider tracking it down and rewatching it...

Farinelli is a great movie - but Carlo's brother was annoying me to no end. I'm glad the movie is finally available on DVD! :)

Yes! I got it on DVD for Christmas and probably am close to wearing it out.
