I find it somewhat ironic that Danish television - despite showing Vikings later in the evening than Sweden - has chosen to show the censored version (unlike Sweden). Oh, and according to their response to my earlier ask about which version they were planning on showing, it's out of concern for their young viewers... Can I be officially embarrassed on behalf of my country's television?

Mind you, they've got decent subtitles - although the choice of going with the traditional Danish name version feels a bit jarring. When you're used to Lagertha, Ladgerd just feels - weird.

That is a crap excuse. Have you seen the stuff they show on DR3?? Also, weren't DR3 supposed to be the hip young people channel? De viste Sexministeriet for crying out loud!

Ladgerd was very jarring to see! I can only assume the subtitler was, like me, lulled into a false sense of a modicum of historical accuracy during the first episode.
